Jon Plumb is the innovative mind behind Cambridge Design Technology, where he leads the team as Founder and Director. With a robust background in the design industry, Jon brings a wealth of experience in Computer Numerical Control (CNC), Medical Devices, and Computer-Aided Design (CAD), particularly with PTC Creo. His expertise extends to Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), showcasing his commitment to precision and quality. As a strong entrepreneurial professional, Jon is driven by a passion for producing exceptional design, consistently pushing the boundaries of technology development.

Jon's extensive career includes serving as Director at Innovate3 Limited from 2002 to 2015, where he specialized in product design, medical device development, and engineering analysis. He was pivotal in business generation, development, managing accounts and projects for both startups and large multinational corporations. From 1998 to 2002, Jon was the Senior Mechanical Engineer at Design Technology, heading engineering, technology, and development. Earlier in his career, he was a key Design Engineer at Baxter Healthcare from 1991 to 1999, contributing significantly to the Baxter Colleague and automatic tube loading systems, enhancing global intravenous drug delivery platforms.

Jon's expertise includes project management, industrial design, engineering design, 3D design, packaging design and custom software development. His comprehensive skill set and entrepreneurial spirit drive the company's mission to deliver cutting-edge industrial product design and technological solutions.

Interests

Jon volunteers at Halstead 21st Century; a volunteer group dedicated to the protection and preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of Halstead, a market town in the north of Essex.

Outside of work and his volunteering efforts, Jon enjoys immersing himself in military history and exploring European battlefields. He is also passionate about Rugy, watching matches on TV and reminiscing about his playing days.
